TEXT TO TEXT TRANSLATION

 Now we shall try translating, text to text, from one language to another. In our case we shall translate from English to Kannada.

Follow these simple steps to get the desired result.

STEP 1. Open Bhashini, by clicking on the Bhashini icon on your mobile. The image is shown below:

 


STEP 2.Bhashini will open with a screen, as shown below, giving you different options. Click on "Text", on your mobile, to choose Text to Text translation.

 
 
 STEP 3. Bhashini will show you the next screen as shown below. Here you see two buttons. "Malayalam" and "Punjabi". These two buttons allows you to choose the input(from) language and the translated output(to) language. Clicking on the left button, say "Malayalam".


 
STEP 4.You will see the next screen as shown below. To select the input language by clicking on  "Indian Languages".

 
 
STEP 5. You will see  a drop down menu from where you can select the input language as shown below. Select "English"
STEP 6. Next click on the button "Punjabi", this is the setting for (translated)output language. Follow the same procedure as in step 5. Select "Kannada"

 

STEP 7. Once both input  and output languages are selected, we see that the input language is English and the output language in Kannada.  In the bottom window you will see "Start typing to begin".


STEP 8. Click inside that window. A new window will appear. Type "What is your name ?". Then click on "Translate" Button.

STEP 9. The next screen will be as shown below, where translation in Kannada is shown in the upper window.




STEP 10. Practice the above steps for different inputs in English to get the translated output in Kannada.

STEP 11. If you desire to translate from English to Tamil or Telugu or any other language change the output language setting as required.

STEP 12. In case you want to translate from Kannada to Hindi, or Kannada to Telugu, you can try it out. These features are very useful. We can think of many uses for this Text-to-Text translation feature. We can use it for  study or to understand some message/text matter in a language which we do not know.

The link given below can also be used to download Bhashini. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dibd.bhashini&hl=en_IN     To open the App click on this logo on your Mobile phone, It will show the opening screen as shown below: Clicking on any of these options - Text,Converse,Voice, Scene(word) or Browse will open the connected screen, where we can use it, for translation in different ways.
